Okay there ‘s only half-a-dozen in this movie and they are not dirty butthere’s a strong analogy between “ten seconds to hell” and the 1967 work: agroup of men,going for broke ,bound to die one after theother.Jack Palance is impressive in a non-villain part,and his character displaystension,emotion and compassion.Jeff Chandler is also very effective .Thedefusing scenes have a near-documentary side which makes them veryconvincing .The main flaw is Martine Carol’s part :her character did not seem to appealto Aldrich and her scenes come at the most awkward moment.This is theumpteenth story of the French girl who loved (and married) a German and nowis looked upon as a traitor to her country.This is a man’s story whichleaves no place for women as “whatever happened to Baby Jane” is an Aldrichwoman’s film which men have nothing to do with.

This movie is fun. It does not weight itself down with being a true tolife tale of hackers. The true life of hackers is a very boring one.The film lets itself go from the true world of hackers and we get abetter film in the long run. The cast gels together in a way that fewother films could hope for.Despite the films forays into sounding cool with techspeak which reallymakes no sense if you can suspend you dis-beliefs for a while you willfind this film immensely enjoyable. Even the hacker game against theFBI agent does have its basis in fact. A writer did challenge hackersthat they really could do nothing to hurt him and within 24 hours thewriter had no credit and was listed as dead to all the computers thatmatter. Still if you are looking for a film were you don’t have to think tomuch and you just want some good mindless fun, you could do worse thanwatching this film. It is worth a look for the young miss Jolie.

The Collection (2012)** (out of 4) Arkin (Josh Stewart), the survivor from THE COLLECTOR, is forced intothe warehouse of the killer by a group of professional hunters so thatthey can rescue a girl (Emma Fitzpatrick) who has been kidnapped. Thegroup soon find themselves in a deadly game that has them entertainingone rigged room after another. THE COLLECTION is a sequel to the 2009film that I’m not sure anyone was really asking for. I thought THECOLLECTOR was an entertaining, if flawed, movie that managed to have afew good things going for it. THE COLLECTION is certainly very flawedand has a bit of “been there, done that” but at the same time it’sstill a little better than most of the horror films from this year. Asusual, director Marcus Dunstan offers viewers plenty of violence andgore. If you’re wanting a gore feast then this here will certainly keepyou happy as bodies are ripped to shreds in a variety of ways includinga rather clever way to start the picture. I’m not going to give awaywhat happens in the club but it was pretty wild and certainlymemorable. I also think that the two lead characters are pretty goodand they at least make you like them and want to see them work theirway through this deadly maze. Both Stewart and Fitzpatrick offer upfine performances and help keep the film moving. The biggest problemwith the film is that there’s zero tension.

What can I say about this film? Well, for starters, IT WAS GREAT! Of course,there were some plot holes and things that could’ve been left out the finalcut, but it was just too good to let little things get out of the way. Thismovie still is a great topic of conversation between friends andmyself.The special effects were something to look at. Dozens of flying cars zoomingby in traffic hell, and when Willis dives through them it’s justspectacular. It was the best mid-air car chase I’d ever seen, and the scenewhere Leeloo is reconstructed from just DNA was an excellent way tointroduce a main character.And for the record, for all those people who think Chris Tucker’s character(Ruby Rode) was gay, I want to say that he wasn’t. I would guess that Bessonwas thinking of how so many things would change in 3 hundred years. Justthink now. There were no computers in the 1800’s. Hell, there wasn’t even atelephone (I don’t think, but if there was it wasn’t touch-tone).The haircuts were weird. So were the clothes. So were the rooms inside theapartments. But this came from the mind of a 13 year-old French boy inboarding school and revised into a movie. Besson’s got a good and creativeimagination. And if he is really helming the Tomb Raider movie, I’m sureit’ll just add to the list.

The Fifth Element is my favorite movie in the world, & Bruce Willis is myfavorite actor. It is not only funny, it had me on the edge of myseat.

I have always been intrigued by this film, mostly because of the fantasy itsuggests, and even obtained a VHS copy to look it over more closely. Usingthe leads posted by other readers, I have been able to glean the followingfacts from various Internet and library resources concerning the strangetale of The Mad Trapper of Rat River, played in Death Hunt by CharlesBronson;a] A man referring to himself as Albert Johnson [identified post mortem byassociates as Albert Nelson, although that was also an assumed name] arrivedin the Aklavik area and brought attention onto himself from a large purchaseof ammunition, a new shotgun, and an inexplicable refusal to get himself atrapper’s license. Johnson ran afoul of a Constable Edgar Millen [LeeMarvin’s character] during the New Years season of 1931-32 after hisapparent meddlings with the traps of some of the local types, who suggestedthat he had gone bonkers in the isolation of the mountains. b] Two posses did in fact make seperate trips to Johnson’s handmade cabin[measuring 8 feet by 8 feet] and one of the Mounties did in fact have abrief encounter with Johnson through an open window; The first time hesimply wouldn’t answer their knocks, and the second time he shot a Mountiethrough his closed door with a .38 automatic. A third posse, with Const.Millens, then made the 80 mile dogsled trip and blew up Johnson’s cabinafter he again refused to acknowledge them.

The Vietcong camp commander, captain Vinh, collected a small fortune in gold looted from POWs and wants to buy a new life in the US, so he offers Cooper freedom for help, but is turned down. Just before a convoy arrives to deport the prisoners to Hanoi, Cooper accepts if all Americans may come with them. An adventurous chase follows, fighting each-other as well as Vietcong, not to mention selfish rogue Sparks’s tendency to mess everything up. Near the border, Cooper insists to come to the rescue of a trapped US unit’s survivors.

The POW movie is a genre that was at the height of it’s popularity inthe 1950/60’s sometimes giving an amusing almost nostalgic gloss of thetreatment of prisoners during WW2, therefore this movie (made in 1943)is an entertaining if somewhat historically dubious entry into thecategory.The movie opens just before France falls to the Germans in 1940, with agroup of French soldiers rounded up and placed in a camp ran by themost sadastic Nazi’s Hollywood conjure up, amongst them one of the1940’s favourite villain’s Peter Lorre. The movie is gritty, the Nazi’sgleefully watching the men tear each other apart over bread, shooting aPriest for praying or brutally kicking chained up men in the face.Seeing Gene Kelly’s battered face, (effective and shocking make-up)whatpatriotic, moral human wouldn’t want to spit a huge, gob of saliva in aNazi’s face or cheer when the hero stabs a Nazi in the throat. In factsome of the scenes were so shocking when the film was first shown,audiences walked out as the gore was just too much. Yet the movie wasnever charged with exaggeration as it was based on “A Thousand ShallFall” by Hans Habe, himself a refugee from the Nazis.In reality, POW conditions of Western prisoners while not a holidaywere tolerable, one character even shouts “this is not a concentrationcamp I have rights” but it is not in the interest of the producers todwell on this or the Geneva Convention. The movie stirs patriotism fromthe minute La Marseillaise booms over the credits.

This 80s classic featured three great actors of Indian Cinema,AmitabhBachchan,Kamal Hassan and Rajnikant.Kamal Hassan is the leading star.Kamal is great in his role and carriesthe comedy and seriousness really well when it is needed.Amitabh Bachchan is the second most important actor in themovie.Although he was supposed to have a special appearance but hisrole was increased.He is good too but repeats his angry young man roleagain.Rajnikant is in a special appearance and steals the show and his deathscene is heart breaking and he does his same stuff with the cigarette.Kader Khan is funny as the villain.Shakti Kapoor as Kader Khan’s son is the funniest of all as the totla.Lovely movie.

20 years ago, I remember how one of my relatives was tellingenthusiastically the story of Indian movie she saw. I recall her strongemotion especially when it came to matters like the name of god beingwritten accidentally on the dead mother’s forehead, or the collectivebloody vengeance on the bad guys at the end. So I believed very earlythat Geraftaar (or Arrest in English) is one effective, exciting andvenerable film. However when I got to watch it, I discovered theopposite.Nearly nothing is serious here except (Amitabh Bachchan) ! It’s thesame themes of the commercial Indian cinema at the time : the oldlost-and-found, taming-of-the-shrew, frame-the-honest-man,get-the-revenge-story.. (you know) BUT in a comic or cheesy way most ofthe time this round !.

Poor Acting.. Poor Historical Clarification.. (even considering it wasa fantasy movie) Poor Effects.. I really though i was watching Twilightin some part of the movie. Hopefully this torture ended in only 100minutes. I could easily write a whole page to justify my opinion aboutthis mess, but honestly i believe it doesn’t even worth it.. i willonly place some examples in order to reach a respectable review limit.1)in 1200, Germany did not even exist 2) I bet Hercules did not wearspeedo almost capri when swimming in ancient Greece 3) Hercules musthave lived about two weeks considering travels to Sicily and back, whenhis brother was supposed to marry after four only nights.

What About movie – In the Maya civilization, a peaceful tribe is brutally attacked by warriors seeking slaves and human beings for sacrifice for their gods. Jaguar Paw hides his pregnant wife and his son in a deep hole nearby their tribe and is captured while fighting with his people. An eclipse spares his life from the sacrifice and later he has to fight to survive and save his beloved family.

I saw this movie last night at a free sneak preview down in TowsonMaryland. The movie pleased me greatly, almost as much as Braveheart.The story was well written with some well placed humor. As historicallyinaccurate as some people say this may be, it seemed to me, the layperson, to be a fairly accurate representation of the Mayan culturebased on my semi limited knowledge of it. The movie was shotbeautifully and showed the vastness of the jungle. The battle/fightscenes were also shot very well and showed just the right amount ofrestraint. It’s rare in this day and age to see a movie with no or verylittle CGI and I thought that was very tasteful on Mel’s part to keepthis film very raw and basic. If anything, the film could actuallystand to gain a little time in the narrative. Not that I’m complainingabout the movie being a tick around two hours, but I think an extra 20or 30 minutes could’ve helped. I think fans of Braveheart, if you canget past the language barrier, will find this to be a very satisfyingfilm.8 out of 10.Cory.

I love movies, and since there are so many kinds it’s hard to say thatany one is my all-time favorite. But in the space of swashbuckler, oradventure, or adaptations from books, or what have you, I don’t know ofanything better than this version The Three Musketeers. This version ofMusketeers also gets kudos from me for its faithfulness to the book. Itis so rare for great books to be made into great movies, or even goodones, but they did it! Last of all, they made the story funnier thanthe book was without taking anything away from the story. Bravo to Mr.Lester and all concerned.
