Up to a point. Brundle thinks he has ironed out the last problem when he successfully transports a living creature, but when he attempts to teleport himself a fly enters one of the transmission booths, and Brundle finds he is a changed man. This Science-Gone-Mad film is the source of the quotable quote Be afraid. Be very afraid.”

I have seen this film quite a few times and still cry at the ending.David Cronenberg is a genius and my favourite director, a master of thegenre. This film shows male hysteria, some black comedy (some briefscenes, one of them involving a baboon) and true love. Of course, theending is heartbreaking and I think it can effect on people in reallife. It is disturbing, but if you’re like me then you’ll see beyondthat and see the beauty and sorrow of this film. I know that Crash ismarvellous to audiences, but in my opinion, how this film shockedviewers in ways and made them think as well; it is undoubtedly DavidCronenberg’s masterpiece.

What About movie – Syd March is an employee at a clinic that sells injections of live viruses harvested from sick celebrities to obsessed fans. Biological communion – for a price. Syd also supplies illegal samples of these viruses to piracy groups, smuggling them from the clinic in his own body. When he becomes infected with the disease that kills super sensation Hannah Geist, Syd becomes a target for collectors and rabid fans. He must unravel the mystery surrounding her death before he suffers the same fate.

This film gets a huge A+ just for the performance of Caleb A. Jones. Some of the A-list reviewers claimed they were bored at parts. I don’tget that. I was riveted. What I like about the younger Cronenberg is that he is far more mentalthan visual. David Cronenberg always relied more on visual but alsomental ideas to make his points. The younger Cronenberg takes us on atrip of the mind through illness. But not just physical illness,societal illness. David Cronenberg of course did much of the same, butthis is different. It’s a different point of view. This film examines the absolute bottomof fascination with celebrity. Brandon Cronenberg is following in hisfather’s footsteps, and thank god he is. Is it a perfect film? No. Not even close. BUT, it is important for somany reasons. The ideas conveyed are incredible, and again- watchingCaleb Jones is pure acting geek joy. That is talent.If Brandon Cronenberg stays on course, he will be one of the mostimportant new filmmakers.

Arkin is blackmailed to team up with the mercenaries and track down The Collector’s booby trapped warehouse and save Elena.”

The Collection (2012)** (out of 4) Arkin (Josh Stewart), the survivor from THE COLLECTOR, is forced intothe warehouse of the killer by a group of professional hunters so thatthey can rescue a girl (Emma Fitzpatrick) who has been kidnapped. Thegroup soon find themselves in a deadly game that has them entertainingone rigged room after another. THE COLLECTION is a sequel to the 2009film that I’m not sure anyone was really asking for. I thought THECOLLECTOR was an entertaining, if flawed, movie that managed to have afew good things going for it. THE COLLECTION is certainly very flawedand has a bit of “been there, done that” but at the same time it’sstill a little better than most of the horror films from this year. Asusual, director Marcus Dunstan offers viewers plenty of violence andgore. If you’re wanting a gore feast then this here will certainly keepyou happy as bodies are ripped to shreds in a variety of ways includinga rather clever way to start the picture. I’m not going to give awaywhat happens in the club but it was pretty wild and certainlymemorable. I also think that the two lead characters are pretty goodand they at least make you like them and want to see them work theirway through this deadly maze. Both Stewart and Fitzpatrick offer upfine performances and help keep the film moving. The biggest problemwith the film is that there’s zero tension.

What About movie – After the death of her husband, Dr. Cara Harding’s faith in God has been shaken, but not her belief in science. In an attempt to get her more open to accepting unexplainable psychiatric theories, her father introduces her to Adam, a patient with multiple personalities who also takes on some of the physical characteristics of his other personalities. But Cara quickly discovers that his other personalities were murder victims and the more she finds out about Adam and his past, the closer she and her loved ones are to becoming murder victims themselves.

The first half of this film is actually a very goodpsychological\supernatural drama which is thoroughly enjoyable.Julianne Moore and Jonathan Rhys Meyers are both excellent. Sadlyhowever in the second half it descends into the kind of god botheringmumbo jumbo so common in American cinema. Why it was released outsidethe U.S first is a mystery when its message, that having no faith ingod (even if you’re a six year old girl) can make you prey to some kindof hillbilly voodoo cult, is unlikely to appeal much outside the U.Smarket. Had they kept the sky fairy nonsense to a minimum and notsmacked us around the head with the idea that atheism is bad it couldhave been decently entertaining, but sadly they didn’t and it ended upbeing an unpleasant, cringeworthy mess.

What About movie – Two American college students are on a walking tour of Britain and are attacked by a werewolf. One is killed, the other is mauled. The werewolf is killed but reverts to its human form, and the local townspeople are unwilling to acknowledge its existence. The surviving student begins to have nightmares of hunting on four feet at first but then finds that his friend and other recent victims appear to him, demanding that he commit suicide to release them from their curse, being trapped between worlds because of their unnatural deaths.

JUSTIN LONG and GINA PHILIPS are brother and sister returning home forspring break when they run into road rage and a monster who comes outof hiding after long hibernation to kill humans for body parts thatkeep him thriving.It’s a fairly suspenseful horror flick with the leads making the usualmistakes so that they can come into contact with the flesh eatingmonster who clearly is after one of them for a purpose not revealeduntil the end.Long is amusing as the brother who has some good lines to say to hisirritating sister as they squabble over how to approach the idea ofhunting down a monster. His facial expression is mainly one of shock atfinding dead bodies at the bottom of a barrel-shaped pipe and he keepsup the shocked look throughout most of the film.There are some genuinely scary moments and a lot of silliness in theplotting which is pretty par for the course in these kind of thrillers.At least there’s one saving grace: the director doesn’t use the shakycamera movement or fast cutting to get his effects. He doesn’t have to.The tale is chilling enough.

A young couple have a murder to report and they go to the nearest town (Gatlin) to seek help but the town seems deserted. They are soon trapped in Gatlin with little chance of getting out alive.

I dunno what it is about this movie, but it is so addictive. The firsttimei watched it it scared the mess outta me! But I really liked it andwatchedit over and over. Whilst I may not be a pro at reviewing films by any stretch of theimagination, I feel compelled to give American Mary by the Soskasisters the highest praising review I can muster.My expectations for the film were high, having been caught up in thehype around the critically acclaimed body-mod horror – thankfully I waspleasantly surprised. There was a lot of room for error in making thefilm, but Jen and Sylvia approached the gory side of the filmperfectly, letting the viewer see just enough to be grossed out but notenough to warrant a sick bag. Whilst I was expecting fake blood andguts galore, the story and themes within the film were strong enoughnot to need the usual cheap thrills one might expect in a horror film,in fact I think the film wouldn’t have been as good were there moregore. On top of this, the characters were interesting/well developedand thanks to a couple of good casting calls and better performances(namely Katharine Isabelle and Tristan Risk) I found it easy to connectto them in the 103 minutes I watched them on screen.As many others have commented, it’s rare to find female horrordirectors that manage to hit the nail on the head quite as well as theTwisted Twins have manged to here, fingers crossed for a next projectequally as exciting.

I personally believe that “Friday the 13th”, “Halloween” and “Nightmareon Elm Street” are the greatest slasher films ever made. 1980 was anextremely special year in horror films, and no, it wasn’t just for theShining. It was the beginning of Friday the 13th, a date which manyfear due to this franchiseThere were some great aspects about this film and some not so greataspects of the film. I personally found the plot rather well done, withnothing except someone out for revenge, simply killing all that enterCamp Crystal Lake. The plot is very simplistic, yet very enjoyable. Theidea of a mom being a serial killer in this film can be laughable andcan also be scary. However, the film suffers from other openings toclassic slashers. “Original Nightmare on Elm Street”, “Original Halloween” and “OriginalChild’s Play” were so well done that it was extremely enjoyable,whereas I personally found the film very quiet on many differentoccasions, with no real surprise to me. Also, unlike the sequels, thekilling seems to be far too separated from one another. However, the soundtrack is the spookiest part of this film. Its done sowell and the acting is good, with the entire cast chipping in. What Iliked most about this film is that a mother isn’t just an insane personout there killing for no reason, but its simply to revenge her son, theone she loved more than anything.

What About movie – Ashley goes to her new college while getting over the death of her mother. She meets some new people there including Binder (‘Shane Dawson’) while at a party and she learns about an urban legend of an online killer that has the nickname Smiley” who can only be seen on the web and he apparently kills people after they type in “I did it for the lulz” three times. Soon after going to the party Ashley and her flatmate Proxy go online to test it out, with horrific results. She becomes paranoid and she starts to think she sees Smiley all over the place and feels that he may be chasing her, but how can that be if he is not real? Have they somehow released him from the internet?”

LaurieStrode (Scout Taylor-Compton) (three guesses on who she is and no, thefirst two do not count), Annie Brackett (Danielle Harris) and Lynda VanDer Klok (Kristina Klebe), are making plans for HalloweeN night, butthey are all invited to a KILLER party…OK, first thing on, people who say that this is better than theoriginal are complete and utter MORONS. Each and everyone of them. I’mTHROUGH with being understanding and forgiving! Secondly, Rob Zombie isa cheater and a hack! The first part of his movie looks like parts of’Devil’s Reject’ and ‘House Of 1000 Corpses’ I saw on Youtube, and itis utterly ridiculous.

I had really high expectations and they weren’t fulfilled. But I wasn’tdisappointed either.Yes, it could be better. This interesting theme could be great materialfor psychological drama. I generally dislike action and zombie movies,but this one was nice mix 33% action + 33% black comedy +33% romance.Everything was moderate but not in a bad sense of that word. Acting wasgood and it was nice to see Mr Bettany in superhero role (if you cansay so for an angel role:) Characters were well written (could bebetter and deeper, but it’s enough). Not much suspense, but interestingenough.
